Safety recommendations:

  • Guests with heart and back problems or pregnant people cannot participate in the tour. 
  • Due to this activity being carried out in the open sea, the participants must be good swimmers. 
  • Be advised that Mexican law prohibits swimming with whale sharks without a lifejacket or flotation device. 
  • Swimmers are not allowed to touch the sharks. It is important not to interfere with their movements by placing yourself in front of them. When swimming, stay 5m away from the shark’s head and 6m from the tail. 
  • Avoid making sudden movements in their presence. 
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. 
  • No sunblock permitted, even if it is biodegradable. 
  • No smoking permitted 
  • Whale sharks are endangered species, so it is mandatory to comply with these rules.
